Think like a student with your back to school attitude

What if adults embraced September with a back-to-school mentality instead of a back-to-work attitude? Students start each school year with a clean slate. They redefine their look, set a new schedule, and reset their goals. And all of this is memorialized with the traditional back-to-school photo with a carefully chosen outfit, haircut, and attitude.

But there are no back-to-work photos for the legions of workers who are back to the grindstone in September. Instead, we just return to the pace and the projects that can now be completed with our colleagues fully engaged. If you work in a company or large corporation, it is impossible not to feel the crush of an entire workforce resuming full productivity following Labor Day.

So before you jump back into the rushing waters of work, take a moment to imagine your “back-to-work photo” for the 2019-2020 school year. Who will you be? What you will do? What, or who, are you leaving behind from last year? And importantly, what does your new schedule look like? Once you have pictured your new self, then work as hard as you can and have fun doing it! Summer will be here again before you know it!
